| Abstract: | The increasing amount of synthetic organic chemicals in the consumer products (e.g. personal care products) can be problematic for human health and the environment. This article examines consumers' exposure to the polycyclic musk fragrances (AHTN and HHCB). Consumers behavior is simulated using the scenario-based risk assessment approach. This study provides reliable information on fractions of AHTN and HHCB in consumer products and on the use of scented products. Finally, the chronic consumer exposure to AHTN and HHCB in today's Europe is assessed. |
