Abstract: | The key question concerning the human resource management (HRM) in multinational companies (MNCs) is the extent of global standardization vs. localization (here as: st. vs. loc.) of HRM-practices. This study analyzes whether the Finnish companies operating in Estonia apply a clear strategical approach to their IHRM and if so, what kind of approach (st. vs. loc.) they have adopted across key HRM-functions. The study followed a qualitative multiple case study approach. The results show that case companies did not have one clear approach to HRM in foreign affiliates in Estonia, that is, those had not systematically standardized or localized all the HRM-functions. |
