Abstract:The authors evaluate the influence of strategic human resource management (SHRM) on organizational performance and consider the effects of the SHRM approach on the performance, commitment and job satisfaction levels of the HR professionals. Data gathered from 269 HR professionals in US manufacturing firms is analyzed with structural equation modeling techniques. The results show how the impact of SHRM on the organizational performance is significant and positive as assumed. In addition, the SHRM approach seems to improve directly the performance, organizational commitment and job satisfaction of the organization's HR professionals.
