Abstract:It is suggested by Weber that, from a conventional moral-point-of-view (hereafter as: m-p-of-v.), four primary virtues (here as: pr-vts.), that is, mercy, submission, obedience and non-worldliness, give rise to centralization, formalization, specialization and standardization. In contrast, from a radical m-p-of-v., these same pr-vts. are expected to give rise to dignification, experimentation, participation and sensitization (by Dyck and Schroeder, 2005). In this study, a sample of conventional and radical managers are compared and contrasted to provide an empirical look at the expected differences, and also to test for differences in their personal and spiritual virtues.
