| Abstract: | The Russian mass media system has changed much since the Soviet period. One contemporary influence constraining media development is Russia's "war on terrorism" and it has provided the authorities with ample excuses to curtail media reporting. Many bills have been debated in the Duma on limiting the activity by the mass media during an incident. |
