Abstract:Entrepreneurship as an activity is examined with the help of three concepts: ‘enacted cognition’, ‘practical authorship’ and ‘maturity’. The two first are concepts of social constructionist approach, the third is found in the literature by Kant (1784/1991). The authors combine the mentioned conceptions and concentrate on the factors that keep entrepreneurs from developing maturity and this way embedding their ideas in the wider social and economic activities of their community. Using a new e-postcard method, data was gathered from 44 UK entrepreneurs in order to get information about the entrepreneurs’ own perceptions about the factors. The authors discuss a new methodology for the conceptualization and development of learning and entrepreneurial activity among small business managers.
