Abstract:This paper extends and validates Robin et al.'s work on PIE (perceived importance) using a different context, different scenarios and a different sample. The results support the validity of PIE instrument, and show that PIE significantly effects ethical judgment and behavioral intention. It is also shown that the sex of the individual affects the individual's perception of importance and is a significant influence of ethical judgment and behavioral intention.
