Abstract:This study examines the impact of geographical distance on the role that subsidiaries play in the MCN network and the way they are managed. Australian and New Zealand subsidiaries are compared to subsidiaries located in other countries. Findings show that geographical distance has an impact on the role and management of subsidiaries. Australian and New Zealand subsidiaries are more likely than other subsidiaries to be Local Innovators and less likely to be Global Innovators.
