Abstract:The relationship between quality management and human aspects, namely empowerment, recognition, personnel policies and effects on employees, in certified Spanish firms are explored in the article. The authors concentrate on (1) the significance of these aspects to quality improvement and (2) if certified firms show higher levels of implementation of human aspects as they are more advanced in managing quality. The article confirms how certified firms with good quality management are more interested in human aspects. It can be observed that in this kind of firms it is necessary to pay attention to human aspects in order to improve quality management.
