Abstract:This study aims to theorize what relationship exists btw. knowledge loss and the manager type. Specifically, this research aims to determine if some types of middle managers (here as: m-mgrs.) report lower levels of information (as: info.) anxiety. A sample of Canadian public service m-mgrs. completed an online survey instrument over a 3-month period in the autumn of 2003. An amount of 99 usable survey results formed the basis of analysis for the project. It is found that most of the sample reported relatively low levels of info. anxiety. The type of tasks performed was not a major factor. However, there was a significant negative relationship btw. frequency of task and info. anxiety.
