Abstract:This paper deals with the link btw. urban quality improvements (here as: imprs.) and economic activity, focusing on whether imprs. in the urban environment will affect business location choices, e.g. if office or retail businesses are especially interested in locating in more pleasant urban places. Proposed is a framework for forecasting economic impacts based on three communities of reference: customers, employees, and the businesses themselves. The results from original modelling of a case study area in Manchester, England are reported.
