Abstract: | This article discusses the Dasgupta-Heal-Solow-Stiglitz (DHSS) model of capital accumulation and shows that if an efficient path has constant savings rates, the population growth must be quasi-arithmetic and the path is a maximin or classical utilitarian optimum; and conversely. |
