Abstract: | The paper examines the strategies carried out by the Spanish cotton industry, drawing the distinction between dynastic and non-dynastic companies, and the business strategies to preserve the family firm, to keep the control of management in the hands of the founder's family, and to maintain long-term living standard. It also measures the degree of success by looking at profits, profitability and ability of dynastic and non-dynastic companies to survive. |
