| Abstract: | This study recognizes a major dichotomy in the study of legitimacy (here as: legt.) construction (as: cnstr.) at the organizational (as: org-al.) level. Based on applying a discursive methodology, this study proposes a new approach for the study of organizational legt. cnstr. incorporating both its evaluative and cognitive dimensions. It is argued that the cnstr. of org-al. legt. depends on both the persuasiveness of org-al. storytelling and on the realization of a taken-for-granted narrative structure. The processes by which legt. is narratively constructed is dealt with through empirical data. |
