| Abstract: | In this study the authors are developing a screening tool to assess the immediate threat to humans and environment from the land-based chemical spills. A modified Delphi survey was employed to determine the most important factors governing this risk and the relative importance of these factors. The Results indicates that accounting for the attributes of the spilled chemical as well as the characteristics of the surrounding environment is imperative when making decisions about spill planning and mitigation. |
