| Abstract: | The paper seeks to analyze different protected areas as attractions and investigate how they affect tourists' behavior. Using data from a number of locations in Swedish mountain region, it is shown that protection status is important to tourists and the status do influence on the decision of visiting the area. The effect is stronger in areas with the label of national park than with labels of world heritage site or biosphere reserve. |
