Abstract:This paper deals with the issue of life-cycle assessment (LCA) and examines various life-cycle assessment studies. Life-cycle assessment models are developed by LCA practitioners to measure resource consumption, environmental releases and potential environmental and health impacts of product systems. This article argues that existing LCA studies are unable to guarantee reliable results, and as a solution to the shortcomings of existing studies a survey of approaches for incorporating quantitative analysis into life-cycle assessment is introduced.
