Abstract:This article shows how gaming-simulation can help organizations to explore their policies, make decisions and make strategic changes. The experiences from eight well-documented strategy change projects are presented as case examples about using a role-playing method to pre-test strategic initiatives in a complex and realistic environment. The paper documents that policy gaming has positive effects on five categories: complexity, communication, creativity, consensus and commitment to action.
