Abstract:In this study the concept of 'negotiated management' as a protest policing strategy is studied in the case of G8 summit in Gleneagles, Scotland. Interviews and participant observation were used to collect the research material. The writers argue that 'negotiated management' can work well if both sides police and protestors made a commitment to negotiate and resile stereotyping and intransigence.
