| Abstract: | Based on in-depth interviews with research managers, the academic research management (henceforth as: ARM) is argued to be ideologically close to knowledge management (KM). Following a grounded theory approach, the data analysis of this study shows that competing conceptualizations of knowledge and associated management models provide the playground for ARM. |
