Abstract:This study aims to examine the utility of the modified theory of reasoned action (TRA) in predicting tourists' behavioural intention to try the local cuisine (here as: l-c.) in New Orleans, U.S. The proposed model is indicated to have strong predictive ability as to tourists' intention (here as: intn.) to try the l-c. Attitude and past behaviour were significant predictors of tourists' behavioral intn. Moreover, the interdependence btw. attitudinal and normative components was partly supported. Gender had a significant moderating role in the relationships btw. attitude/past behaviour and behavioral intn. to experience the local cuisine.
