Abstract: | The study analyzes the Mitchell, Agle, and Wood theory of stakeholder salience by examining the reactions of two stakeholder groups. Shareholders response is examined through changing share returns and risk. Management response is evaluated in terms of change in disclosure. The study suggests that stakeholder status is impermanent and determined through the eyes of a decision makers. This outcome supports the Mitchell, Agle, and Wood theory. |
