Abstract:Managers in pharmaceutical industry are obliged to participate in stakeholder dialogue, due to the corporate social responsibility (CSR) expectations faced by their companies. As a result the managers also have to make CSR decisions that please the company's stakeholders. In this article, prior research on the subject of stakeholder dialogue is reviewed and analyzed. The authors theorize the issue by pointing out gaps in literature, and develop a new analytical model for CSR decision making. After the publication of this paper, the model was applied in pharmaceutical firms in UK and Germany to provide comparative research data on stakeholder dialogue.
