Abstract: | Five factors in making the decision whether to defend a suit in court or settle out of court are suggested for management to consider: potential loss of productivity versus potential liability; impact on vendor and/or client relationships; impact on the stock market; impact on insurance rates; commitment to the policies of the organization. Two other means of settling disputes are discussed: executive negotiation and arbitration. |
