Abstract: | The future of computer-based information systems and information technology is characterized by effective decision support systems, expert systems etc. They are indispensable for competitiveness. Many people place an absolute trust in the output information of computers. This trust without reservation may be dangerous for the users. An empirical study in this field revealed a number of causes and relationships.It was found that more knowledge of information technology leads to a better judgement on output. It is very important to be sure about the correctness of input data and machine procedures. |
