Abstract:Successful investment in the American market through acquisition takes careful planning, analysis and implementation. Five practical guidelines - know your company, define your objectives, put together a team whose mandate is to evaluate potential acquisitions objectively, allocate sufficient time and identify potential acquisitions and evaluate them systematically - are listed. The value of a business is analyzed on the basis of three principal methods: discounted cash flow, earning capitalization and net worth or liquidation.
