Abstract: | The managers' decisions about salary increases are investigated under different conditions: performance level, consistency of performance, tenure, priory salary, and existence of an outside job offer. The main effects of these characteristics accounted for an average of 77% of the variance in the managers' raise decisions. There were considerable individual differences among managers in the weights they attached to the 5 characteristics. It would be useful to know how the organizations might influence managers. |
