Abstract:The first stage of CEO's change effort led to a thorough knowledge-building process. When it became clear that these efforts had stranded, the CEO moved to include the missing Change Agenda items. Then behaviour became more consistent with the new values and vision. The change effort gained momentum, and the bank started to move towards a more competitive position. Middle management provided a resource for translating the new values into on-the-job behaviour.
