| Abstract: | Just-in-time production cannot be successful without computer aided quality assurance. On the other hand, quality assurance requires supplier assessment, quality cost analysis and the administration of test equipment. The main components of a modern quality assurance system are described. Quality indices are introduced for the assessment of suppliers. The costs of testing and the costs of accidental errors (occurrence of faulty products) are considered and compared. Availability of software for quality assurance purposes is emphasized. |
