Abstract:Information output should meet certain standards to be considered useful to an organization. Output that falls short of these standards places a double burden on the organization. First, there is the obvious expense of production output. These expenses must be absorbed by the organization while receiving little or no benefit. The second burden is brought about by decisions based on substandard output. Poor decisions lead to excessive cost and lost opportunities. Information output can be judged in four areas: form, volume, responsiveness and accuracy and reliability.
