| Abstract: | The pioneer type of owner-entrepreneur has practically disappeared from family enterprises and management is now conducted by professionals. The author draws on his experience as a manager in family firms to describe various aspects of management in such enterprises. He limits his considerations to highest level of management /advisory and supervisory boards and the board of directors/. The given constellation demands from the manager sensibility, empathy for traditional structures, respect of the name, and reserve in the outside representation. |
