Abstract: | Motorola uses two types of technology road map. The Emerging Technology Road map is used for technology improvement by objective evaluation, capability analysis, and forecasting of the progress of technology. The Product Technology Road map is a compilation of documents of the product line - past, present and future - of a division or operating group. It has eight sections: description of business (mission, strategies, market share, product life cycle curve etc.); technology forecast: technology road map matrix; quality; allocating resources; patent portfolio; product descriptions; minority report which might bring to management's attention a "minority point of view". |
