Abstract:Europe has to draw the lessons of the Beecham-Yankelovich case. The legal problems facing marketing research companies in Europe are examined.Six areas have been distinguished in which the liability of a marketing research organization can be raised.Relationships between research companies and their clients should be formalised via a contract and general conditions of sale. ESOMAR is preparing a standard contract.
