Abstract: | For some smaller firms, the only way to stay in business will be to invest in automation technology. The survey of managers at six manufacturing companies is described. The efforts of robot manufacturers, systems suppliers and integrators to serve small firms are overviewed. The effects of robotization on profits, images, and employment are discussed. |
