Abstract: | The authors propose a generalization of the classical modeling of combat via Lanchester equations to include one- dimensional spatial effects. The usual coupled set of ordinary differential (Lanchester) equations are replaced by a system of partial differential equations. The proposed model is discussed, results are presented and possible applications and extensions are considered. For example, the proposed generalization allows for treating maneuvering. |
