Abstract:Employers returning injured and disabled employees to the work force must use creativity when considering their options in light of their legal obligations. Employers have four basic courses of action available when time comes to rebound such workers: terminate disposition of workers compensation claims; return the employee to his or her pre-injury job; assign the employee to a new job; provide the employee with rehabilitation, and, following the rehabilitation, return the employee to an appropriate position. Legal obligations of employers are also discussed.
