Abstract: | In addition to the economic argument in favour of more flexible retirement policies, there is also a powerful psychological argument. Work is an important source of psychological well being for many older workers. With appropriate incentives, many might like to phase into retirement on a more gradual basis, as a means of enhancing the quality of their lives in the later years. More explicit identification of impediments to change the system is the first step. |
