| Abstract: | The authors formulate a dynamic oligopoly model and study optimal pricing policies in the presence of experience curves and capacity constraints. If learning by doing is the dominating effect and if there are idle capacities, dynamic Nash prices are below static ones and decline continuously over time. If firms are constraint by their capacity limits, prices might be higher then the static ones but do decline over time as well. The price decline is faster, however, if there are idle capacities. |
