| Abstract: | Closed- caption decoders were originally designed for the 22 million hearing- impaired people in the U.S.Recently it has become popular with the second- language population wanting to improve their language skills, and with children learning to read. Now some 1000 home video titles are closed-captioned with 20-30 new movies monthly.There is rising interest from video software companies, and network, and cable TV operators. |
