| Abstract: | On Nov,1 French government will cut VAT rate on prerecorded videocassettes and blank audiotapes from 33% to 18%. IFPI group and SNEP greeted the news, as CD video has just been introduced to French market. However, there are some doubts about blank-audiotape tax reduction. The Audiovisual Law of 1986 imposed levy on blank cassettes to compensate for the effect of home-taping. |
