| Abstract: | In 1977 Eutelsat was oroginally set up to carry telephone links and to transmit Eurovision TV programs. In the early 1980s they decided to widen the range of their activities to include business services.There was also a need for transponder lease service. Owing to the increasing demand,, and the change to a four-satellite confirmation, Eutelsat has decided to develop its second generation of satellites. The first Eutelsat II will be delivered in mid- June 1989 and it will have 24 transponders. |
