| Abstract: | NVPI has appealed to the Dutch government to cut the VAT on sound carriers. NVPI has been campaigning for this since 1976. 6% tax is levied on books, papers, including porn magazines, and other artistic works, while sound and video carriers, film and theatre carry 20% VAT, which is regarded unfair discrimination. NVPI remarks, the harmonization of VAT rates among the 12 member states will be unavoidable from 1992 on. |
