| Abstract: | One of the major satellite actions taken by the FCC was the domsats authorizations this fall. The FCC has empowered seven companies to build 13 new domsats and launch 9 of them. The FCC has also authorized the replacement of 10 existing domsats. If all planned new satellites and replacements are launched, the total of American in-orbit domsats will be 42 providing satellite capacity to meet U.S. domestic needs through the end of the century. |
