| Abstract: | The latest figures published by French industry association SNEP, confirms the steady growth of the record industry. There was a 56% increase in CD sales and 63% in cassettes. The retail sector has quickly reacted to the rapid expansion in sales levels. These results may be due to the last year's reduction in the rate of VAT, explosion of CD sales, and to the fact that government allowed advertising of records and tapes on the TV. |
