Abstract:By matching the right incentive with the individual manager and tiering it to the goals of the business, companies can effectively tap the talents of their executives. The success of a company's incentives is based on how well it capitalizes on the motivational needs of its managers. As companies enter and leave markets, grow and shrink, the incentive strategy requires adjustments to stay attuned to the business strategy.
