Abstract:The general model which has been developed is capable of estimating and projecting the energy requirements by end use of a Nepalese village within plmin 13 p.c. error at 95 p.c. confidence interval, if eight variables of the village in question are known. These are standard population, household expenditure, agricultural commodities, number of livestock, number of cookstoves, area covered by housing, topogaphy and forest accessibility for a particular village. Primary energy requirements in the household sector of some surveyed villages typical of Nepal's different regions are estimated. Total useful energy is estimated considering the end-use efficiency of the devices employed for specific end-use activities.
