Abstract:Every day Americans eat millions of pounds of food carrying residue of pesticides that are banned or not registered for use in the United States. But these chemicals are not being dumped on U.S. markets by unscrupulous foreign nationals. The presticides carry the "made in the U.S.A." label and are legally manufactured here solely for export. Environmentalists call it the "Circle of poison," a loophole in U.S. law that permits production and export of pesticides banned or unapproved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
