Abstract:Many employers claim to believe in racial equality, fewer take action to achieve it. The authors explain how the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE) standard can help, with a special focus on developing and retaining staff. The commission has decided that it must engage more people in taking action for racial equality and better human relations. It also issued the results of the first survey of racial equality policies and practices in the 168 largest companies in Britain and their subsidiaries.
