| Abstract: | What professional standards should be expected of a personnel and development specialist in today's fast-changing world? Judy Whittaker explains the thinking behind the IPD's new standards and the qualification structure into which they fit. The Institute of Personnel and Development (IPD) was created on 1 July 1994 to succeed both the Institute of Personnel Management and the Institute of Training and Development. The new institute started life with a membership structure which had been agreed by members of the two former institutes when they voted in February 1994 to set up the IPD. |
