| Abstract: | The basic situation of Anhui province's investment and economic development through the period of the Ninth Five-Year Plan to 2010 is as follows: Opportunities and Challenges, and hope and difficulties coexist. Favorable conditions are more than unfavorable conditions. Now the reform toward, marketing is being carried out further and opening also expanded further too. The state takes the development of the central area as the key point of its strategy and strengthens the status of agriculture as foundation. All these have provided opportunities for Anhui's development. However, because of shortage in funds for construction, poor conditions for introducing foreign investment and the present water conservancy facilities which have not great capability for fighting natural calamities, Anhui is also facing many challenges. |
